Dead Irons

I can only throw a tiny preview up.
But here's a panel. Dead Irons! 4 issues of horror western craziness.
Here's the ink work. AND! I'm back to painting/coloring this one, myself.

Looks good. I've just completed a short script for a supernatural western animation to be made in the UK and I'm certainly looking forward to see how this develops as I feel it's the two genres compliment eachother. Are you able to say which publisher is putting it out so I can keep an eye out for it.

Dynamite is the publisher

How does knowing you're going to color it yourself change the way you approach the black and white stage?

it doesn't really. I draw like it will be black and white. if i were painting it, fully, that would be different. But I'm actually painting a separate plate and the putting the image together in the computer. and starting with the next few pages, I will be working on panels on separate pieces and putting the pages together that way.

Looks great, can't wait to see the finished work. When should we look for the first issue?
When you say separate plate do you mean a printed copy of the page, or something else? Also, will the separate panels that you will be putting together later be larger than they would be if you were doing them all on the same page?
thanks,

I scan in the black and white art.
Then lighten the line art where I can barely see it, then print that out on 9x14 watercolor paper.

I paint with watercolor and mostly acrylics because i want that solid color feel. Not a of rendering. Once that's done, I scan it in and place the black and white line art over the color plate in photoshop.

whew.
